African Dream Academy’s Inaugural Ball

The Student Council Government of the African Dream Academy hosted its inaugural ball on Friday, March 29, 2024.  The inaugural ball, which took place at Annex 1, was a spectacular event that brought together students, faculty, staff, and special guests. 

Speaking in an interview during the occasion, the Academic Director, Mrs. Alice C. Reeves, expressed her excitement about the event and said that it was very well planned.  Mrs. Reeves said it is good for students to plan their own activities because they understand what they want and can learn how to achieve it.  She stated that the students who planned the event did very well since there were no disturbances and everyone enjoyed themselves and had fun.  She also highlighted the efforts of the Student Council Government in organizing the ball and added that she is looking forward to seeing more.  In addition, Mrs. Reeves said most young people misread themselves thinking they cannot have fun in the absence of alcohol or drugs, but they can, and this event proved it. 

The Speaker of the Student Council Government, Kelvin Willie, said it was a great opportunity for students to come together and have fun outside of the classroom.  Student Willie also expressed disappointment in the night section for not participating.

Meanwhile, students who attended the event expressed much joy, excitement and appreciation for the effort put into organizing the ball.   Speaking over the microphone after the event, students stated how much they enjoyed the dancing- birth-month game and the food, describing them as overwhelming.  Some guests said they were impressed by how the Student Council Government is working because events like the gala bring togetherness.  They also stated that they enjoy being at African Dream Academy and thanked the organizers.
